Charity House Wins ABEC Inter-House Sports

casion, 14th Annual Inter House Sports Competition of Archdeacon Brown Education Centre (ABEC) in Rivers State, Professor Lucky Odokuma, has said that sports is an important factor for social development.
He stated that sports brings unity, peace and love among people.
Professor Odokuma  made the assertion while giving his closing remarks at the end of the sports competition, last Friday, at the school sports field, Woji town,  in Port Harcourt.
He commended the school authority for a successful and well organized competition while thanking parents for attending and pray for a better sports competition in the school.
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, (MD/CEO)  of the school, Mrs Christy G.T Toby, said she is always excited when she sees parents partnering with the school management to achieve success.
Mrs Toby, called on parents to always remember their children, the motto of the school “ be the best of best” to enable them not deviate from it.
According to her, ABEC is known for her good results in external examinations, adding that the school always have advantage over other schools because of its quality teaching and going leaning environment.
“ I am always happy whenever I see parents partnership to achieve success.
This school always has advantage over other because of its peculiar ways of teaching and learning environment.
Our students here performance impressively in any external examinations.
Parents should always guide their children towards be the best of best” Mrs Toby said.
The MD/CEO of the school used the forum to thank the teachers for bringing up children in a good academic and moral standards.
At the end of the inter house competition, Charity House emerged overall winner with 121.7 points, while Peace House and Joy House came second and third, with 117 and 98 points respectively.
The school also presented iPads to nine best athletes, among them is the game prefect of the school, Ibiwari Dennis.
The most valuable athlete went to Benjamin Onweni. While football trophies male and female were presented to Joy and Peace Houses, the basketball trophy was lifted by charity House.
