‘APC ’ll Win Rivers In 2015’

There is no gainsaying the fact that the All Progressives Congess (APC) is the party to beat in Rivers state come 2015 general elections. Quote me: the APC will not only win the state but will win with a very wide margin, other parties will find it difficult to see the APC’s back at the elections”.
These were the words of the Rivers State Liaison Officer in Abuja, Hon. John Enebeli while answering questions from newsmen in Abuja, yesterday.
Hon. Enebeli told newsmen that “the reason is simple: Our leader, Governor Chibuike Ameachi’s ubiquitous achievements will be the yardstick that will determine who Rivers people will vote for at the elections, and I can assure you that Rivers people will vote for the APC because of the developmental strides of their governor that has impacted positively on their lives since his assumption of office’’.
He said Ameachi has the Peoples Democratic Party greatest political followership in the state and had no rival, stressing that when he dumped the (PDP) for the APC, his followership moved with him.
His words: “We are standing where Governor Ameachi is standing; when Governor Ameachi left the PDP, we left with him. As far as we, his supporters are concerned, we are loyal to our leader and nothing can make us waver’’.
Enebeli said, “no amount of intimidation, suppression, blackmail or pressure will make the teeming masses of Rivers State who believe in the good work the governor is doing for them  to withdraw their support for him’’.
Enebeli buttressed this point by drawing newsmen’s attention to the recent nation-wide registration exercise organised by the APC, saying that it witnessed mammoth turn-out throughout Rivers State and was very successful.
‘’ That was why agents of the other party were envious and came to attack the people and wreck havoc at some of the registration centres, claiming that we came to take their members. So, you can see that they’re already jittery ahead of the 2015 elections.
“I believe if he’s leaving the PDP, he has not done so because he wanted to”.
The Rivers State liaison officer further justified the governor’s membership of the APC, and quipped, “If you were the governor of Rivers State; if you are other progressive governors within the PDP and all of a sudden, your political structures are being taken away, all of a sudden , you’re being chased out of the party, what will you do? Will you sit down and continue to receive those punches? Of course, no!
“The PDP allowed itself to plunge into destruction – by destroying  the legacy that was handed over to the party  from generations of PDP leaders, there is trouble every where in PDP and not just in Rivers State. So, one wonders  how the party will make headway in the 2015 elections’’, he said.
