“Women have shown to be credible partners who deplore every resources at their disposal to enthrone good governance, and that’s why I will continue to partner with them to better the lots of our people”, he said.
In his sermon, the Catholic Bishop of Port Harcourt, His Lordship; Most Rev. Dr. Camillus A. Etokudoh enjoined Christians, especially mothers to demonstrate love to the less privileged in the society.
Bishop Etokudoh stated that the Rivers First Lady and wife of the governor was considered for the honour due to her selfless service to humanity and charged her to continue to be the light of Christ in the society.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Judith Amaechi attributed the lingering crisis and geometric rise in crime in the society to absence of love.
She stated that the only panacea to the societal challenge was for Christian to return to God saying “God is the foundation of love” and charged women to remain as change agents and to accelerate attainment of sustainable peace in the society.
We as mothers are change agents and we must demonstrate the works of mother Theresa and continue to work towards attaining sustainable peace among us and the society at large”, he said.
