2015: ‘Why APC ’ll Floor PDP’
Barely 24 hours after some South-East politicians in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urged President Goodluck Jonathan to contest for a second term in 2015, the Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that the biggest mistake the PDP will make in 2015 is to give President Jonathan the party’s ticket.
Kwankwaso, yesterday tweeted that, the “APC will be happier with Jonathan as a PDP candidate than any other person because he will be easier to defeat.”
His statement has provoked mixed reactions, while some applauded him; others said that the PDP will defeat the APC in the presidential election.
There is already serious battle between the two major parties in the country, the PDP and the APC for the Presidency in 2015.
Kwankwaso, who had defected from the PDP with some governors of the party, gave insinuations in the tweet that portrayed Jonathan as a failure.
He said: “the economy that they claim to have grown is the economy of Abuja.
“Any practical economist will know that the figures they gave is not commensurate with what is truly on the ground. The figures they give are far from the truth.
“Go to the streets, you will see people hungry, depressed and impoverished.
“There is no food, no electricity, no security and there is poverty everywhere.
“You cannot talk of economic development where people are killed daily and people are sleeping with one eye open. Without peace, I am sure our economy cannot be the biggest in Africa.
“If you go to the streets and tell people that the nation’s economy has progressed, they will laugh at you. That is even if you are lucky that you are not beaten up and left with scars on your face.
“People in Nigeria, irrespective of their geographical areas, are angry that things are not working well primarily.”
