2014 YOG : LMC Begins Sale Of Tickets

Committee (LOC) of the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games has said that international tickets were now available for sale.
The tickets on sale include those for the opening and closing ceremonies, event family tickets, and general tickets for various events through the official ticketing website for Nanjing 2014.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos.
It said that to further attract international spectators, the LOC was recommending specific travel agents that would provide visitors with visas, Games tickets, flights, tourism and accommodation.
The statement said that ticket prices vary from 3,200 Chinese yuan (about, £306 or $514 or €372) for premium seats at the opening ceremony to just 40 Yen (about, £4, $6 or €5) at certain spots.
While the ticket price for Chinese students only goes for a cheap rate at 20 Yen (£2/$3/€2).
It said that tickets would be made available for sale before the commencement of the Games from, August 16 to June 15.
It added that online arrangements for tickets would be made available at 142 points of sale across China with 123 being opened in Nanjing, eight in other areas of the Jiangsu Province and 11 in other provinces.
The statement said to facilitate ticket purchases for Nanjing residents, organisers would open box offices, selling only regular events’ tickets, at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, Wutaishan Sports Centre and Longjiang Gymnasium.
It said that tickets purchased on the official website could be collected either in person or via post.
It noted that for the opening and closing ceremonies, tickets booked through the official website would be posted to the buyer from May 5.
According to the statement, buyers who have chosen self-collection can pick-up their tickets at designated locations once they have received notification from their ticketing agents and upon presentation of a valid ID document.
The same applies for events tickets booked through the official website, though those collecting tickets must bring a specified password in order to successfully receive their tickets.
It said that for all tickets sent via post, buyers will be expected to pay the postage.
The statement added that the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing would see around 3,600 athletes participating in 28 sports from August16 to August 28.
