2014 Goals: FRSC Boss Tasks Rivers Command
The Assistant Corps
Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adewale Lawal, has enjoined officers and men of the Rivers State Sector Command to ensure that the 2014 corporate strategic goals of the corps were joyously guided.
Lawal gave the charge while addressing officers and men of the command at their Aba Road, Port Harcourt promises last Monday.
According to him, it has come to the notice of the Corps Marshal, Osita Chidoka, that the performance of some officers in terms of proper supervision and enforcement have been below expectation, and called for improvement inorder to achieve the goals at the end of the year’s evaluation.
He observed that apart from the primary aim of reducing road crashes on the roads, some personnel had deviated from their role, urging them to shun any personal interest that could damage the image of the corps.
The Assistant Corps Marshal said the corps would not tolerate any negative conduct by officers, and warned that any one caught would be decisively dealt with, and charged them to aim at being a world class organisation.
“If you want to use the organization for self agrandisement, you will be shown the way out while those who are trying will be encouraged as their performance determines their promotion as it is going to be recorded against them”, he further advised.
He posited that performance was a criterion for motivation and enjoined all operational officers in the zone like the provosts, and marshals to monitor their men and report accordingly.
The FRSC boss also disclosed that the commission would take firm decision this year and further warned patrol officers, who are the first contact on the road to be civil, polite with road users and not to intimidate them.
Lawal cautioned them not to collect bribe as well as other malpractices, because they are prohibited as the command was poised for zero tolerance while performing their duties, adding, “avoid being a victim.”
