Scrabble Association Appeals For RSG’s Sponsorship

Association has appealed to the state government to sponsor the team to participate in the forthcoming scrabble competition tagged Asaph Azadok National Open Championship to hold in Abuja next month.
Chief coach of the body Tony Ikoli, made the appeal during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt over the weekend.
He said that the players have been working hard and are poised to win trophy at the competition, insisting that, there is the need for government to support the team for the championship through motivation so as to bring out the best in them, at the competition.
“Though, we will not participate in the 19th National Sports Festival, but, we still have other competition to participate  such as the 5th South-South Scrabble Competition” he said.
He also disclosed that the championship would be used to immortalize the grand patron of the National Scrabble Federation, Asaph Azadok.
Meanwhile, six players and two officials are expected to represent the state in the competition which is expected to take place April 1st to 24th this year.
