Rivers APC Holds Congress, This Week

In preparation for a  better
and transparent internal democracy in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State,  party stakeholders are meeting today towards ensuring free and fair ward congresses of the party.
The congress which is scheduled for Saturday, is to elect officers at all the wards in the state.
The Interim Organizing Secretary of the Party, Dr Mike Nwieghai, stated that the council chairmen, interim party chairmen and four interim principal officers who were product of the recent harmonization are to discuss guidelines for the fourth coming congresses.
Speaking with The Tide, the Senior Media Assistant to the State’s Interim APC Chairman, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, said the party was working to unify the structure of the party at all levels.
Chief Eze noted that the party would conduct a transparent and fair congress to allow all interested groups and ethnic groups have an opportunity.
He commended the level of maturity members of the party exhibited during the membership registration exercise in the state despite some intimidations from the opposition and assured that the party was battle ready to continue its winning forms in the state.
He, however, urged party members to conduct themselves during the congress and also work hard to bring all members to one fold.
Some members of the party executive who spoke with our correspondent said they were ready to ensure hitch-free congress across the state so as to give every member of the party a sense of belonging.
