Police Arrest Magistrate, Husband For Alleged Child Abuse

Command has commenced full scale investigation in respect of alleged child abuse, abduction and assault, levelled against a Magistrate, Mrs. Ifeoma Nneji attached to Court Three, Oji River, Enugu State and her husband, Mr. Ifeanyi Nneji.
According to a press release issued in Enugu and signed by the  Command’s Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, the couple were arrested following a petition to the police by a widow and mother of the victim from Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The petitioner, the statement went on, further alleged that the victim, Chinasa Amah, who is now 9 years old was abducted by the couple in 2011 at a tender age of 5 years without the consent of the mother.
The PPRO maintained that state operatives of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the State Criminal and Investigation Department (S.C.I,D) of the command swung into action by visiting the residence of the couple at Ibagwa Nike, in Enugu East Local Government Area of the state  where the victim was seen with bruises and multiple injuries on her body allegedly inflicted by both couple and was successfully rescued, while  Ifeoma and the husband were immediately nabbed.
His words: “On her part, the victim’s mother explained how her daughter was allegedly  taken away without her consent by the couple and begged for justice from all ramifications. The victim also on her part narrated her many years painful and agonizing ordeal in the hands of the magistrate and of the husband who have persistently seen her as a practical object to demonstrate torture at all times”.
Chinasa, the statement further stated, told the police that she was always kept hungry and beaten thoroughly by the magistrate and the husband.
Meanwhile, the victim has already  rejoined her mother for proper custody, the release also added.
