NSCDC Criticises Use Of Unauthorised Security Personnel
The Deputy Comman
dant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Anambra, Mrs Adeyemi Adebisi, has expressed displeasure with the use of unauthorised guards as security personnel.
Adebisi expressed the view on Wednesday in Akwa at a stakeholders’ forum organised by the NSCDC to promote the activities of registered private security companies in the state.
She urged individuals and corporate organisations to patronise only the registered private security companies, which she said had well trained security operatives and licence to operate.
The NSCDC official, who stressed the need for information gathering as veritable mechanism for enhanced security, called on stakeholders to be time-conscious as security experts.
One of the stakeholders who attended the forum, Mr Chike Ibisi, expressed concern that none of the 23 markets in Onitsha had private security guards.
“No licenced security outfit is securing the 23 markets in Onitsha, Ibisi the Managing Director of Globe 999 Security Outfit, said.
He, therefore, urged the NSCDC to intervene in the situation by clamping down on unregistered security companies.
Another stakeholder, the Chief Executive Officer of Model Security Company, Mr Kenneth Okonkwo, commended the NSCDC for its attempt to ensure that private guard companies were recognised in the state.
