General Secretary of
the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Musa Amadu, has backed new National Under-20 team coach Manu Garba to succeed and replicate the success he had at Under-17 level.
In a recent chat, Amadu said a tough challenge awaited the coach ahead of the qualifiers for the Africa Youth Championship in Senegal next year.
He however does back the Under-20 side to reach the heights that are expected by the NFF.
“The coach and the crew are facing an uphill task, they have to start from the scratch as far as building a good U-20 side is concerned,” he said.
“The coach has a pedigree at the U-17 level and Nigerians will expect that he will provide the same type of winning mentality that he did at U-17 level.
“I am confident and the Federation is confident that we have chosen the coach that will make Nigerians proud by qualifying the team for the African Youth Championship in Senegal and then of course the World Cup in New Zealand.” Amadu added.
