Man, 31, In Custody For Charm Preparation
A thirty one-year-old 31
man, Ayanfe Ifayemi, has been remanded in prison custody by a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court for falsefully claiming to prepare a money making charm with charge sheet Pmc/364c/14.
The accused, Ayanfe Ifayemi, 31, is standing trial on two count charge of false pretence and making charms before Chief Magistrate Ipalibo Iyiabo.
The prosecuting police officer, Insp Wilson Isaiah, told the court that the accused person on the 19th day of February, 2014, at about 0940 hours at Wimpy Junction by Ada George and Obiri Ikwerre Port Harcourt in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District did unlawfully obtain the sum of ninety thousand (N90,000.00) only by false pretence from one Mr Jeremiah N. Jimmy to make charms or more money for him.
The prosecutor also said that the accused on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did under false pretence represent himself to be person who has power and ability to make change of financial status for the purpose of obtaining money by false pretence from one Mr Jeremiah N. Jimmy.
The police prosecutor averred that the accused committed an offence punishable under section 419 of the criminal code laws cap 37 Vol. II laws of Rivers State 1999.
Ruling on the matter, the Presiding Chief Magistrate, I.F. Iyiabo, remanded the accused person in Port Harcourt prison custody and adjourned the case to 1st April, 2014 for consideration of bail.
