Man, 23, In Custody Over Alleged Murder

A middle aged man,
Chibuike Agbazuo, has been remanded in prison custody by a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court presided over by Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Woke for allegedly killing one Chisom Anaba.
The accused person, Chibuike Agbazuo, 23, is standing trial on one court charge of unlawful killing before E.C Woke of Chief Magistrate Court 1 with charge sheet number pmcl/349c/2014.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Eddy Ojiezele informed the court that the accused person on the 20th day of January, 2014 at Obeama, Oyigbo Local Government of Rivers State in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District did unlawfully kill one Chisom Anaba by kicking him and as a result of which he fell and hit his head on a tarred road.
The prosecutor opined that the accused person committed an offence under section 317 and punishable under section 325 of the criminal code, cap 37, Vol II, laws of Rivers State of Nigeria, 1999.
In his ruling, the presiding Chief Magistrate Court I, Emmanuel Woke while remanding the accused in prison custody, ordered that the original case file be forwarded to the DPP for legal advice on the matter. The case was later adjourned to  May 8, 2014.
