LG Provides Free Eye Test

Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Saka Obalana, said last Sunday in Ilorin that over 1,000 residents of the area benefited from free eye test, sponsored by the council.
Obalana, who spoke in an interview with newsmen said the programme was organised in conjunction with a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Olamus Foundation.
According to the council chairman, the programme held simultaneously at Alapa and Aboto in Onire and Afon districts respectively.
“The gesture is one of the administration’s agenda geared towards making live more meaningful for those with sight defects in the local government.
“The eye experts did a marvellous job in spite of the large turn -out of people that came out for the exercise ’’, he said
Obalana also said that rural roads in three wards in the council area were graded to make for easy transportation of farm produce to urban areas.
According to him, the graded roads are located in Alapa/Onire/Ode-Giwa ward, Ojugbede/Awe/Orimaro/Adigbongbo ward and Ogbondoroko/Reke ward.
Obalana assured that his administration would continue to pursue programmes that would uplift the living conditions of the people.
