Members of the Enugu
State Branch of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have been warned not to sell petrol at an outrageous price or be ready to face disciplinary action.
Chairman of the IPMAN in the state, Chief Linus Mgbakogu gave the warning in Enugu shortly after a one-day meeting of the association with representatives of the state government and stakeholders in the petroleum sector held at the IPMAN’s secretariat along Enugu/Abakaliki road.
He vowed that the association would not hesitate to impose sanctions on any of its members that would sell the product above the approved pump price.
However, Mgbakogu said that they did not resolve to sell fuel at any specific price during the meeting, adding that members were strongly advised to always source the products at a price that would enable them sell at a minimum price to the masses.
The IPMAN boss in the state, therefore appealed to the NNPC to make the products available in order to reduce the sufferings of the masses, pointing out that currently, marketers in the state were not making gains.
While appealing to the government and their numerous customers  to bear with the marketers, Mbakogu further warned that the situation would be disastrous if marketers shut down completely.
While using the forum  to inform  members of the public that NNPC Depot in Enugu would soon be functional, Mgbakogu expressed happiness  that government was working hard to restore pipelines damaged by hoodlums.
He also revealed that repaired pipelines were already being manned by armed security operatives stressing that any vandal caught would be made to face the laws of the land to serve as deterrent to others.
