The Imo State Govern

The Imo State Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, Mr Uche Nwosu, made this known in Owerri while handing over the cheque to the community.
Nwosu commended the members of the community for releasing the lands for the project.
He said that the government had earlier released N150 million to the people as part of the compensation.
The commissioner said that the economy of Cross River had improved due to the establishment of the Calabar Free Trade Zone.
Nwosu expressed optimism that the economy of the area and Imo at large would receive a boost by the time the Ngor Okpala Free Trade Zone was completed.
He enjoined the people of Ngor Okpala to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by supporting his administration and future political ambition.
The commissioner urged the youths in the area to cooperate with the developers of the trade zone who would commence the development of the project in a short time.
Speaking on behalf of the attorneys, Mr Felix Ogbonna, thanked the government for his magnanimity in releasing the funds and assured that the money would be disbursed to the land owners.
Responding on behalf of the land owners, a former Commissioner for Lands in the state, Dr Dan Onwukwe, expressed appreciation to the governor for releasing the money to the people.
He promised that the Ngor Okpala people would give their full support to the current administration.
