Court Restrains UNIPORT Alumni From Impeaching President

Court presided by C.K. Dappa – Addo has restrained Chief Edward Ngene and 19 others who are defendants in a suit no OHC/20/2014 from impeaching the claimant, Ike Chinwo to resign from office as the National President of University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association pending the determination of the motion on notice.
Hon Ike Chinwo, the National President of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association had approached the court to stop the first set of defendants, Chief Edward Ngene and 12 others and the second set of defendants, Sir (Chief) Bio Ibogoma Gbeyesa and seven others from impeaching, causing the impeachment of and or causing the claimant, Hon Ike Chinwo to resign from office as President of University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, pending the determination of the motion on notice.
The judge also ordered that the claimant / applicant enter into an undertaking /bond to pay the sum of N200,000.00 as damages should the application be found to be frivolous. Justice Dappa-Addo however adjourned the case to the 13th March, 2014 for motion on notice.
