Court Remands 18-Yr Old Man For Murder

Chief Magistrate Court presided over by Ipalibo F. Iyiabo, has remanded an accused person, Marcus Confidence, for an alleged murder on charge sheet number PMC/473/2013.
The accused person, Marcus Confidence, 18, is standing trial on two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.
The prosecuting police officer, Inspector Wilson Isaiah, told the court that the accused person and others now at large on the 9th day of February, 2014, at Akpojo-Eleme in the Port Harcourt magisterial district did conspire amongst  themselves to commit felony to wit murder.
The prosecutor further told the court that the accused person and others now at large on the same date and place in the aforesaid magisterial district did murder one Desmond Samuel Anolk, by hitting him with stick on his head.
The police prosecutor averred that the accused person committed an offence punishable under section 324 and 319 of the criminal code, cap 37 Vol. 11 laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
Ruling on the matter, the presiding chief magistrate, Ipalibo F. Iyiabo rejected the bail application sought by the defense counsel and remanded the accused person in prison custody and adjourned the matter to 7/4/2014 for mention.
