Etim told newmen in Lagos that the passion of young footballers required assistance, to encourage them to be more committed to the sport.
“Our girls are really making waves in football, which calls for support from all sectors in this country; and this has to do with complete kits for training.
“Most of them observe their training under clubs at the National Stadium, Surulere, especially at the weekends; we encourage people to come and watch their training sessions.
“You will be impressed at the skills displayed by these girls, they take possession of their various wings and play with commitment.’’
Etim said that the Super Falcons, the Falconets and the Flamingos, had been doing well and that they were forces to be reckoned with at international competitions.
“Our national female football teams are really doing great, particularly at international levels and I commend their efforts for making the nation proud.
“This is the time we must develop the younger ones that will replace the present national players, when they eventually retire because football requires constant practice.’’
Etim advised female football technical officials to remain focused and to build cordial relationships with players, to enable them excel.
