Coach Bemoans Exclusion Of Kickboxing From NSF
A kickboxing coach,
Adegboyega Adeniji-Adele, has urged kickboxers not to be discouraged following the exclusion of the sport from the 19th National Sports Festivals (NSF) in Calabar.
The festival, tagged “Paradise Games”, by the Cross River Government is scheduled to hold from November 23 to December 3.
Adeniji-Adele said that there were other programmes line up at the state and national levels that would engage them to keep fit.
“Athletes that have been preparing for the Paradise Games should cheer up, being away from the NSF should be taken as an opportunity to forge ahead for other competitions.
“There is no doubt that such a sad development will put you off but there are other available competitions that can be used to make up,” he said.
He disclosed that the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria would be organising a National Open Championships in Ilorin from April 22 to 28.
The Coach added that the Agoma Open Martial Arts Festival would also hold in Benin from May 13 to 18.
