Board Charges SMOs On Accountability

The Rivers State Social
Mobilisation Officers (SMOs), drawn from the 23 Local government Areas of the state, have been charge to be accountable in the discharge of their duties.
The director, Community Health, Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHMB), Dr. Isaac Opurum, gave this charge at the training of the SMOs in preparation for the second round of this year’s National Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs) campaign.
He also told them to be committed, adding  that social mobilisation was the life line of any programme, and  their role was vital to the success of the programmes of the RSPHMB.
On her part, the State Health Educator, Ministry of Health, Dr. Doris Nria, said the aim of the training as to ensure that SMOs were fully aware of the strategies of implementing the second round of NIPDs.
She  said, at the end of the training, the participants  would be able to have better understanding of their role in the NIPDs campaign while enhancing their participation in the implementation of the NIPDs.
