The cleric said the Lenten period, which began with Ash Wednesday on March 5, was a time for Christians to look towards God for direction.
“Christians should use this period to pray and fast for peace and continuous unity of Nigeria and to help those in need,” the cleric noted.
Ezeokafor also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for giving the Blessed Cyprian Iwene Tansi a posthumous award.
“We are happy about the honour and also appreciate the President and those who deemed it fit to honour him.
“It shows that we are moving in the right direction.
“On our part, we will keep praying for peace and unity to reign in Nigeria and believe that blessed Tansi is doing same through what we call communion of saints,” the cleric said.
