Assembly Mourns Dead Colleague
The Abia State House of Assembly has embarked on a week-long mourning recess in honour of a deceased lawmaker, Chief Nwogu Iheasimuo.
Iheasimuo, who represented Aba South Constituency, died on March 20, after a protracted illness.
A statement signed by the Principal Officer of the House, Mr Foster Orji, in Umuahia on Tuesday, said that all the house activities had been suspended till after the mourning period.
The statement also said that all flags in the assembly complex would be flown at half mast.
It stated that the lawmakers and other officials of the house had already paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
Meanwhile, a condolence register has been opened at the House for sympathisers.
