Akas Baba’s Wife Appeals For His Release

Akatakpo popularly known as Akas Baba, Mrs. Candy Akatakpo has appealed to the kidnappers of her husband to release him unconditionally. She also appealed to the State Government and the general public to assist in ensuring that her husband regains his freedom without further delay.
The Waziobia FM Port Harcourt broadcaster and ace comedian was kidnapped early hours of Thursday morning at his residence in Rumuekini after he was shot on the leg. The kidnappers also went away with some valuable. The kidnappers are demanding the sum of N10 million as ransom.
Reacting to the incident, a Port Harcourt-based human rights lawyer, Barr. Charles Jaja, described it as unfortunate and pleaded with the kidnappers to release him unconditionally to enable him seek medical attention for the injury he sustained as a result of the gun shot. He also called on government to tackle the menace of kidnapping in the state.
Also speaking, a Port-Harcourt based popular comedian, Mr. Emmanuel Ubi aka ‘Rugged Pastor’ appealed to the kidnappers to release their victim. He noted that Akas Baba has not wronged anybody to deserve his abduction. According to him, “Akas Baba has no money to pay for his ransom, he is just a hustler like every other one of us.”
