19th NSF: ‘Rivers’ll Win Paradise Games’
The Director of Sports Development in Rivers State, Edwin Amadi, has declared that the state would come tops in the upcoming 2014 National Sports Festival, tagged “Paradise Games.”
Amadi told newsmen that Rivers State would come back to reclaim the number one position in the country.
The 2014 National Sports Festival is scheduled to hold in Calabar from November 28 to December 3.
He said that the state was rejuvenating its athletes and would strive to be at the top at the games.
“This year will be different for us. We are coming back to become overall winners. At the last festival, we came second and in 2011 we were first.
“Now, we are gunning for the top position and adequate preparation is already in the process for our athletes.’’
Amadi said that efforts were being put in place to provide an enabling environment for the athletes to ensure success.
“Everything is being put into consideration and success will be assured.
“This time around, we will leave no stone unturned,” he said.
It would be recalled that Rivers State was the overall winners of the 2011 edition of the festival and the runner up in 2012.
