13,000 Teachers: Biometric Registration For SSS Teachers Begins, Today

The biometric data registration of 13,000 teachers recruited recently by the Rivers State Government and posted to Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in the state has been scheduled to begin, today.
A statement signed by the Director of the Computer Department in the Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Derrick Achesemie said the exercise would begin with SSS teachers in Abua/Odual and Ogu/Bolo local government areas today while Tuesday would be the turn of SSS teachers in Ahoada West and Omuma LGAs.
The statement said the exercise would hold at the Conference Hall, First Floor, Wing A, Point Block, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt at 9.00 am daily.
It advised those affected to come along with originals and photocopies of their Letters of Appointment, First School Leaving Certificate, Birth Certificate or Age Declaration as well as completed Verified Form for Staff Payroll and Staff Electronic ID Card Registration forms issued by the principals of their respective schools.
The statement further urged SSS teachers from other LGAs to check their scheduled dates for the exercise at the Ground Floor of Point Block, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt, and enjoined them to adhere strictly to their scheduled dates to avoid overcrowding and ensure orderly conduct of the exercise.
The exercise would be rounded up on April 24, 2014 with SSS teachers posted to Opobo/Nkoro and Oyigbo LGAs.
The biometric data registration for SSS teachers is the second and final phase following the conclusion of the exercise for teachers posted to schools under the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Scheme with the issuance of Rivers State Government Staff Identity Cards.
