Rivers State Governor and Chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has described the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike as nobody in Rivers State politics.
Amaechi, who stated this on Saturday during a Thanksgiving Service by Senator Magnus Ngei Abe at St Barth Anglican Church, Bera in Gokana Local Government Area, also described the former chief of staff as a man without character, greedy and ambitious.
The governor said Wike told the people lie when he said he (Wike) made him (Amaechi) governor, explaining that it was God that made him what he is after fasting for 10 months.
According to him, “I prayed and fasted for 10 months before the Supreme Court judgment. I knew Wike when I was the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and he was the chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council. I made him to return as the chairman for the second term.
“I did that by meeting Obio/Akpor stakeholders and convince the party, and he won the party ticket. When I became governor, he wanted me to make him finance commissioner, but I said no, and told him that I will put him in a position that I will see him always. So, I made him the chief of staff. I also nominated him as a minister”, he said.
He described Wike as a man without character, and urged the people to vote against him if he gets the ticket of his party to contest as governor in 2015 elections.
The governor vowed to mobilise the people of the state to thwart the governorship ambition of the minister, who also hails from the Ikwerre ethnic nationality with him.
Amaechi also revealed that a prophet, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, had prophesied that the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, would betray him once he becomes a minister in President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet.
The governor, however, said he thought the prophesy would not come to pass.
According to him, “when I confronted Wike, who then was the chief of staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, he swore with the lives of his children not to betray me”.
Amaechi said: “Senator Magnus Abe said he does not believe in prophesies; but a prophet came and told me not to make Nyesom Wike a minister because he will betray me. The name of the prophet is Apostle Suleiman. I told the prophet to pray against it. When I confronted Nyesom Wike in the presence of Chima Chinye, he swore with his children’s lives that he will not betray me. Any man that swears with the lives of his children is a wicked man. He does not appreciate those children at all.”
The governor stated that most of the crises he faced as a governor were revealed to him after he fasted for 10 months before he regained his mandate through the Supreme Court in October, 2007.
“I am a prophet on my own; I prophesy to people. I told you before that I fasted for 10 months, and I saw a lot of things beyond what the prophet told me. I saw all the things that came to pass in my governorship race. In fact, the prophet told me then that I will be governor and after that, these are things that will happen; and I told him that they were already revealed to me,” he added.
