RSSDA Wins African Govt Agency Of The Year Award

Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) has been selected as the African Government Agency OF The Year 2013 by the African Leadership Magazine Awards Committee.
The award will be given at the African Leadership Magazine Annual International Summit scheduled to hold on 27th February 2014 in Washington DC, United States of America.
According to Publisher of the African Leadership Magazine, Dr. Ken Giami, ‘’this award is given in recognition of the monumental work of the Agency in developing the human capital of Rivers State, Nigeria’’.
Similarly, RSSDA will receive a special commendation and recognition by the State of Georgia Congressional Black Caucus in appreciation of its efforts in ensuring international best practices in the course of its operations.
Reacting to the award and commendation, the Executive Director/CEO of RSSDA, Mr. Noble Pepple described them as a welcome development.
He said ‘’this is an unsolicited but really exciting honour for Rivers State and an endorsement of Governor Amaechi’s vision for change and development through RSSDA’’ .
At the same event, President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone will receive the African Leadership Award as African President of the Year 2013.
‘’Our mission is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and development in Africa, thereby heralding the emergence of a new Africa, growing beyond potential into true greatness’’ Dr. Ken Giami concluded.
Earlier in the year, RSSDA had also emerged winner of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) HR Best Practice Award in the Public Sector in Nigeria for 2013, in recognition of its outstanding application of global best practice in personnel and HR management.
In 2012, the Agency won in the Gold category, the prestigious International Star for Quality in Leadership Award given by the Business Initiative Directions, a Madrid-based international organization which champions the global promotion of better business reputation and excellence.
