Rivers Angels Trade Tackle With Queens’Morrow
All is now set for the
opening match of 2014 professional women league between Rivers Angles of Port Harcourt and Delta Queens of Asaba in Delta State this weekend.
The match, which is one of the week-one fixtures is expected to be explosive as the Angels are determined to take home three points a stake in the match.
The team manager of the club, Matilda Otuene, has said that the team is set for victory this season adding that, the players are poised for a win in this weekend away encounter.
“My girls have all it takes to smile home at the end of the game, they are determined, hardworking, and have prepared adequately for this season”, she remarked.
Also speaking, the coach of the team, Whyte Ogbondah, has said that winning the match is the team’s priority, saying that the team has to win the match in order to gather points in the league.
“This is league competition and we need to win our matches as to stay in the league, all three points are important to us and it is our target this year”, he noted.
Meanwhile, the Angels are expected to host Sunshine Queens FC of Akure next weekend in Port Harcourt.
It would be recalled that the Angles won the 2013 FA Cup and narrowly missed the league title to Delta Queens FC.
