The Principal of Birabi
Memorial Grammar School (BMGS), Bori, Mr. Mathew Deeyaa, has called on ex-students of the school to assist in the rehabilitation of the school.
The principal made the appeal at the maiden edition of the memorial anniversary  of the founder of the school and foremost Ogoni nationalist, Late. Hon Timothy Naaku Paul Birabi.
The principal  who decried the level of infrastructural decay in the school noted that the school had produced  top ranking officials in government  and the private sector,  and stressed the need for the former students to give back to their alma mata.
He said reviving the school to its former status as a prestigious  citadel  of learning  was  a collective  effort  and not the responsibility  of government alone.
The principal also commended the Birabi Memorial Project Group (BMPG) for honouring the late icon and called on Ogonis to immortalise late Paul Birabi by sustaining his ideals and legacies.
In his remark, the Coordinator of the Birabi Memorial  Group, Comrade Lekia Christian said, the group had a fundamental objective to immortalise the late Ogoni patriot and educationist who within his brief but eventful stay contributed to the liberation of the Ogoni people.
He called on  Ogonis at home and in the diaspora to contribute in the development of Ogoni by extolling the virtues  which  Birabi demonstrated in Ogoni.
