Mainstreet Bank, FG Partner On Agric Dev
The Managing
Director of Mainsteet Bank, Faith Tuedor-Matthews has revealed plans by the bank to support the Federal Government by establishing 80 agric equipment hiring centres across the country.
It could be recalled that the Federal government started the first phase of the agricultural mechanization scheme which would involve the setting up of 80 centres for hiring agricultural equipment in the country.
Our source reports that at the initial stage, the Federal government made available 400 units of tractors, 500 power tillers and various post harvest equipments.
The Mainstreet Bank boss while speaking at an interactive session on mechanization intervention programme in Abuja recently said each of the centres would be equipped with five units of tractors, 5 units of power tillers and other harvest and post harvest machinery.
He further revealed that the bank has concluded plans to support the government during the second phase of the programme.
“I want to give the commitment of the bank to agric mechanization scheme.
