Genevieve, Omotola, Rita Dominic Emerge Role Models For Youths

Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Rita Dominic have added another feather to their hats. Apart from receiving various awards both locally and internationally, most youths in the country see them as role models to be emulated and looked up to especially in the movie industry.
Brief notes on the following actresses, Genevieve Nnaji – is a Nigeria actress born in Mbaise, Imo State Nigeria but grew up in Lagos Nigeria. She attended Methodist Girls College Yaba Lagos before transferring into the university of Lagos. While at the university, Genevieve began auditioning for acting jobs amongst the many nollywood parents.
Nnaji started her acting career as a child actress in the then popular television soap Opera Ripples at the age of 8 . In 1998 at the age of 19, she was introduced into the growing Nigeria film industry with the movie “most wanted” In 2010, she strarred in the award wining film Ije. Nnaji, has starred in over 80 nollywood movies. Genevieve Nnaji is considered to be one of the best paid actress in nollywood.
Nnaji has received several awards and nominations for her work, including the best actress of the year award at the 2001 city people’s awards and the best actress in a leading role award at the 2005 Africa movie academy awards. She was lately nominate as the ambassador of variety rover.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde –
Omotola is a leading actress, singer and philanthropist of an Ondo origin from Lagos, Nigeria. Since her nollywood film debut in 1995, she has appeared in an astounding 300 films selling millions of video copies she is the first African celebrity to receive over I million likes on her facebook page.
In 2013, she was honoured in Time’s magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world alongside Michelle Obama, Beyonce and Kate Middleton. In 2012, Omotola, launched her own reality show Omotola, the real me, on Africa Magic Entertainment, a M-net subsidiary broadcast on DSTV. Omotola’, the real me, made Omotola the first Nigeria celebrity star in their own reality show.
On November 9, 2013, Oba Victor Kiladejo the royal king of Ondo Kingdom conferred Omotola with a chieftaincy title in her hometown of Ondo State. Omotola is known for her fierce human rights campaigns and her philanthropy efforts are centred on her NGO project called the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme (OYEP).
She is married to a pilot – Captain Mathew Ekeinde, her husband of sixteen years in 1996. The marriage is blessed with four children.
Rita Dominic
– She is a Nigeria actress.
In 2012, she won the African movie award for best actress in a leading role. Rita is a member of the royal Waturuocha family of Aborh Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State.
She is the youngest of four siblings and attended the Prestigous Federal Government Colege, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State Nigeria, before heading to the university of Port Harcourt, where she graduated with a B.A (honours) degree in theater Arts in 1999.
