Onuegbu disclosed this to our correspondent in Port Harcourt yesterday in response to the long queues witnessed at most filling stations in the state these days.
The union leader said that the union is not responsible for the fuel scarcity being experienced in many parts of the country presently.
He said the national leadership of the union has never directed any unit to embark on industrial action thereby leading to the fuel scarcity.
Onuegbu who is also the state chairman Trade Union Congress (TUC) Rivers State said the National Executive Council (NEC) of the union will soon meet to take decision on the issues of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), the kerosene subsidy of the Federal Government and other related issues affecting the Oil and Gas Sector of the economy.
He said the Federal Government must ensure that the interests of the Nigerian workers are well protected, considering the recent divestment by some major international oil companies operating in the country.
The union’s boss urged the National Assembly to expedite action on the  passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill  in order to ensure  holistic operations in the oil and gas sector, stressing that the bill actually set the limits and regulations within the sector.
