Emirates Airline To Begin Flights To Abuja, Kano
Emirates Airlines has
announced its plan to commence flight operations to Abuja and Kano International airports in August following the approval of the Aviation Minister, Mrs Stella Oduah.
The announcement is contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the minister, Mr Joe Obi, in Abuja on Monday.
“The international carrier has said it is set to enhance its operations to Nigeria by launching scheduled daily passenger flights to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano,” the statement said.
The statement said a letter on the flight operation, signed by Mr Salem Obaidalla, the Senior Vice-President, Aero-political and Industry Affairs of the Airline, was sent to the minister on Monday.
In the statement, the carrier expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for the continued support and assistance extended to it throughout the period it had been operating in Nigeria.
“The flights will operate in accordance with the existing UAE-Nigeria agreement on air services with four weekly flights routed Dubai-Abuja-Kano-Dubai and three weekly flights routed Dubai-Kano-Abuja-Dubai without carriage of domestic traffic between Abuja and Kano”.
Obaidalla said the airline was committed to the Nigerian market, adding that it would provide Nigerian travellers with the best services.
The statement said the minister expressed joy that passengers from Abuja, Kano and other parts of the North, who patronise the airline, would have its services brought to their doorsteps.
