Dolphins Pledge To Win League Title
Dolphins head
coach, Stanley Eguma has said that the team would win the league this season.
”We are working towards that and we know we are equal to the task.
”Remember we won the title in 2011 and we have set it as our target and we believe we can do it. We only just ask for support of the fans,” Eguma said.
”We are assuring them that this season our target is the league title.”
Eguma also added that he has not dropped his idea of focusing on youth and pace this season as he feels that is the way to go for Dolphins
“We are still working on the young players that we have and we believe that by the time the League start they will begin to have the mentality of Premiership players.
“It is tough but we feel that with hard work on these young players we will eventually get it right.”
Meanwhile, Chairman of Dolphins supporters’ club, Franklin Owhor says he has returned to Port Harcourt to educate others on the gains of violence free stadia.
Owhor said he was at the pre-season seminar organised by the League Management Company, LMC and he learned that he must educate members of the supporters’ club at Dolphins to behave themselves before, during and after games.
”I learned to control my temper when anything happens on the pitch that I do not like and I also learned to control the fans who may be following me.
“I must say thank you to the LMC who took time out to organise that seminar and I believe they mean well for Nigerian football.
Dolphins have not had a major incident at their stadium since 2005 when unruly fans in a game against Bendel Insurance caused a three game closed door ban.
“I know that the fans here have been a bit peaceful but there is more we can do to ensure that Port Harcourt remains a safe place to watch games,” Owhor said.
