Confab: Utomi Urges Delegates To Shun Politics
A former Presidential
Candidate of Social Democratic Mega Party, Prof. Pat Utomi, has urged participants at the national conference not to mix the conference with politics.
Utomi told newsmen in Lagos that the conference could easily be mixed up with politics.
He said that representatives should identify the nation’s problems and proffer solutions.
“From my perspective, the conference can easily be mixed up with politics as it is.
“Those being selected to represent the people should do so with sincerity,” he said.
He, however, said that the national conference was not the solution to all the problems facing the nation, “although it is good to talk”.
Utomi, who also spoke on the 2015 elections, urged politicians who would contest to be leaders of change.
He said that politicians, who did not have the interest of the country at heart, should not bother to contest.
“Deep down in your heart, if you do not have a burden, something that burdens you about what is wrong in the society that you would give your life to change, do not bother about running,’’ he said.
Utomi said that personal gains would not bring about the needed change to Nigerians.
