Christians have been
charged to always glorify and give thanks to God for the multiplication of their blessings.
The Bishop, Diocese of Okrika Anglican Communion, Rt Reverend Tubokosemie R. Abere gave the charge yesterday at a special thanksgiving and reception ceremony in honour of the Rt Reverend Gabriel H. Pepple  (Rtd) at St. Peters Cathedral, Okrika in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Rt Rev. Abere in his sermon drawn from 1st Thessalonica Chapter 5 verse 18 titled, “In all things, give thanks to God” explained that “for our health, long life and deliverance from daily dangers, humans, especially Christians have every need to glorify and thank God for His enduring mercies.
He extolled the virtues of Bishop Pepple as a man full of faith in the Lord, honest and a good steward who always gave proper account and remarked that the retired Bishop’s life was worth celebrating in view of his huge contribution to the growth of the church.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Barrister Tamuno Williams said, “the celebration of Bishop Pepple is a pointer that there is reward for hardwork and honesty” and enjoined public office-holders to emulate the man of God by living an honest and transparent life.
The council boss maintained that in whatever one does, time shall come when he or she would be expected to render proper account either on earth or in heaven.
According to the council boss, “every good work has its reward and it pays to be transparent and accountable”,.
In her speech, the General Manager of Radio Rivers, Ms Medline Tador expressed satisfaction with the celebrant for living a wonderful life and contributing enormously to the growth of the Diocese.
