APC ‘ll Sweep Elections In Rivers
The Chairman of Emohua
Local Government Council, Hon Allen Nma, has assured that the All Progressives Council (APC) will win elections in Emohua, in Rivers State and at the federal level.
Hon Nma gave the assurance in an interview with The Tide in his office, in Emohua local government council, recently.
He described the APC as the fastest growing party in the country and blamed the leadership of his former party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the current crisis rocking the party.
“You cannot continue to put our people under slavery. The activities of PDP are not like a party that will survive. Since I started playing partisan politics, I had never seen any party driving away members. What party does is to gather people.
“You see before now, they were sacking governors, suspending commissioners and assemblymen. The best thing for us to do was to leave a sinking boat.
“The president himself didn’t see anything good when we were telling him what the leadership was doing was bad. But today, you can see that many people have left. And those were the people who made the party.
“Now, in Rivers State, the PDP is the minority party. The APC has come to stay. I will assure you that in Emohua local government area where I am chairman, the APC will win. APC will win in Rivers State. APC will win in Nigeria”.
On the issue of re-election, the Emohua council boss said he would leave that to the people of Emohua to decide, stressing that his primary concern was to make the people of Emohua happy by providing good governance in the local government area.
“The issue of re-election is even what is happening at the federal level where you want to force people to bring you back for a second term. It is wrong.
“As a chairman I am not forcing the people of Emohua to bring me back for a second tenure. My activities will make the people to say, Allen Nma come and go for a second tenure”, he said.
He called on the people of Emohua to take advantage of the on-going APC membership registration and get registered as bona fide members of the party and also assured them of better days ahead under the APC-led government in the country come 2015.
