302 Councillors Move To APC In Rivers

hitches, at least 302 councillors in Rivers State have fine-tuned plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) soon.
The chairman of the National Councillors Forum of Nigeria, Rivers State chapter, Hon Lebor Nwigbaranee who disclosed that the councillors hinged their defection to APC on the festering political crisis in People Democratic Party (PDP).
Nwigbaranee said the unresolved crisis between the then PDP Leader in Rivers State, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi and the festering political crisis in Rivers State showed that the party was grinding to a halt.
The chairman of the forum stated that the councillors who are mostly young men cannot afford to put their fate in a sinking ship and a tattered umbrella that could neither shield members from the sun nor the rain.
He disclosed that their movement to the APC was not only for the councillors but for teeming supporters and grassroots members.
According to him, by the time the process is concluded, the PDP would have ceased being the winning party in Rivers State as the attitude and orientation of the people of the state.
