Yuguda Inaugurates NIPOST Shopping Mall In Bauchi

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has inaugurated Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) shopping mall, constructed by Imba Construction and Property Ltd., under Public Private Partnership initiative.

Yuguda said that the mall with 203 lock up shops,16 stalls and a restaurant was constructed at the cost of N134 million.

He commended NIPOST and the construction company for the initiative, adding that such arrangements would further promote the development of commerce and industry in the state.

He said that government would continue to provide the enabling environment for business to thrive in the state.

“We will continue to provide the enabling environment, facilities, security and all needed infrastructure in our quest to boost commercial activities in the state.

“I assure you that my administration will not relent in its efforts to make Bauchi State an industrial centre,’’ he said.

The governor called on investors to use the opportunity of the business-friendly environment in the state to invest.

In her remark, Hajiya Amina Katagum, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, said that such initiative would no doubt boost the state economy and also increase its revenue base.

Katagum said the state industrial policy was aimed at achieving a suitable development of small and medium enterprises with a view to attract prospective investors.

The Managing Director of the construction firm, Malam Ibrahim Ahmed, explained that  the mall was named after the late Emir of Bauchi, Dr Suleiman Adamu, because of his contribution to the socio-economic development of the state.

Ahmed said the mall was built under the ‘Built, Operate and Transfer’ arrangement.

Meanwhile, Malam Ibrahim Baba, the Post Master-General of the Federation, has pledged NIPOST continued partnership with stakeholders.

Baba said the partnership would improve the quality of service and business development to meet the yearnings of Nigerians.
