TUC Inducts New Affliliate Union
The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria has inducted newly admitted affiliate union called Precission, Electrical and Related Equipment Senior Staff Association (PERESSA), a phone and computer engineers based union into its fold.
The union under the aegi of Association of Computer and Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria Union (COTEAN) also elected its new National President, Mr. Joseph Rotimi.
The union’s National President said the inauguration of the union would lead to better service delivery by the union members.
He said, the event was a far reaching reform to reposition the computer and telecommunications market in Nigeria with the primary goal of strengthening the productivity and value of the sector and building of structures of best value to the benefit of the members of the public.
The union boss said the number of members was a great impact on the Labour movement as it had afforded people of like minds the opportunity to come together for a collective gain of all and sundry.
He further added that as a mean of giving effect to the union development and inauguration, the union sought the hands of COTEAN membership in the partnership between the two unions.
He said the admission of the union would be of a great significance in the industry as it would help to uphold the oneness in private sector so as to engage in collective and focused agreement on issues of members.
