Scrabblers Yet To Start 2014 Training In Rivers

The Secretary of the
Rivers State Scrabble Association Tekena Lulu-Poku has said that the association has not started intensive training for the 2014 Sporting activities.
Lulu-Poku, who disclosed this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports at the Alfred Diette-Spiff Sports Coplex, Port Harcourt, said the body is waiting for a go ahead from the Ministry of sports.
He also explained that the Ministry of Sports has not released the programme for the new year, saying that, when that is done, the association would now work by the Calendar of the Sports Ministry for the year.
He however noted that association has resumed from the Christmas break, adding that, normal training would soon begin.
He noted that, since the team does not have a place to play at the Sports Complex, they are hardly seen within the complex during their practice.
He further disclosed few places where the athletes use for their training, such as Shell Club and Port Harcourt Clubs.
“These places, are mostly use during major competitions as the national Sports festival.
