RSG Uncovers Plot To Attack Govt Offcials
The Rivers State Government says it has uncovered plot by some hoodlums to enter into Port Harcourt with the plan to attack government officials.
This was made known by Commissioner for Special Duties, Barrister Dickson Umunakwe, who briefed newsmen in Government House, Port Harcourt, on Monday after the second State Executive Council meeting of the year.
Umunakwe called on security agencies to be alert to their duties to avert such occurence, saying that “ the security agencies need to nip such plan in the bud’’.
He assured that government will not leave any stones unturned, to ensure that lives and properties of the citizenry were protected..
While commending the commitment of the newly recruited 13,200 teachers to their duties ,the Commissioner urged them to partake in the ongoing biometric data capture to enable them get their salaries.
Umunakwe disclosed that the state executive council deliberated on matters affecting the state, especially the implementation of the budget to ensure the welfare of the citizens.
He assured that as a matter of priority, attention would be given this year to health, infrastructure, power and education as spelt out in the budget.
Against this backdrop, he hinted of plans by the government to commence commissioning of completed projects next month.
He disclosed that between 17 and 18th of February, some of the projects would be unveiled.
