Rain Disrupts Proceeding In Enugu Magistrates’ Court
Proceedings in Enugu Magistrates’ Court were last Monday halted following a heavy rainfall in the state capital, The Tide reports.
A Magistrate in one of the courts, Mrs Okwy Ezeagbasi, who was presiding over a case of traffic violation between the Commissioner of Police and one Sunday Okoye, could not continue.
The rain which came with a heavy wind shattered windows in the court, making it difficult for proceedings to continue.
Some of the affected court rooms were flooded while a part of one of the blocks collapsed.
Ezeagbasi quickly adjourned the case to February 12 for continuation of hearing.
Everyone in the court ran for safety as the storm caused more damage to the court building while the clerks brought out office documents for safe keeping.
The rain, the second in a week, started around noon and lasted for about 50 minutes.
