Orashi People Drum Support For Amaechi,Sen. Ake
Contrary to the recent show of shame and hypocrisy exhibited by a group called Voice of Orashi Region, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), a socio-political group has pledged its unflinching support and loyalty to Governor Chibuike Amaechi and Senator Wilson Asenobi Ake.
The forum which took the stand after its meeting at Ahoada last Saturday, said it was satisfied with the performance of the Senator, representing Rivers West in the National Assembly, Senator Wilson Ake and passed a vote of confidence on him while reaffirming its loyalty to and support for the leadership of the Senatorial district and overall performance of Governor Amaechi.
The group urged the people of Orashi region and Nigerians at large to ignore comments credited to the Voice of Orashi at a solidarity rally in Omoku, recently.
It condemned Police impunity and acts of intimidation in Rivers State, adding that it was negatively impacting on the welfare and well-being of the state.
According to the group, the gross disrespect and insurboratination of the Commissioner of Police to the Governor of Rivers State has led to negative developments and image of the state.
“It is no rumour that there has been noticeable increase in the rate of Police impunity against peaceful gatherings which recently resulted into the shooting of Senator Magnus Abe”, they said.
The Orashi National Congress President General, Comrade Emeni Ibe and the Co-ordinators and President of Voice of Orashi people, Comrade January Simebia and Orashi Youths Coalition and Rivers West Youth Assembly, Comrade Lucky Ottos, said Governor Amaechi ranks second to none among past leaders in the development in the area of infrastructural development.
“The Amaechi-led administration is no doubt one of the best in the country’, they said.
They also dismissed threats by the Voice of Orashi region to shut down oil and gas activities if the Commissioner of Police is redeployed out of the state.
The Orashi National Congress described those sponsoring the Voice of Orashi as polticially dead, and noted that they are mostly made up of those who had suffered election defeats or were impeached for poor performance while in office.
