Managing Director,
Frontier Oil Ltd.,  Mr Dada Thomas, last Thursday, advised marginal field operators to avoid the mistakes of major crude explorers by partnering with host communities.
Thomas gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Lagos.
He said that from hindsight, the nation could only maximise the dividends of crude production in harmonious environment.
Thomas said that the “charred history” of hostilites between oil producing companies and host communities had made it imperative for marginal operators to evolve corporate social responsibility packages.
He advised that marginal operators to develop strategies to make indigenes of the host communities employable.
“We should also provide motor able roads and town halls to the host communities if we can afford it.
“Let the generality of the people in the community feel the good things you are doing in their land,” he said.
Thomas also advised the operators to work with government agencies and play by the rules and regulations guiding their operations.
He advised operators to collaborate for efficient production, manpower development and community development programmes.
