NTTF Scribe Wants Players To Register
The Secretary of the
Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Chinedu Ezeala-Ogundare, last Thursday called on players to take advantage of the month of January to renew their membership with the body.
Ezeala-Ogundare told newsmen in Lagos that the exercise which commenced on January 1 at the NTTF secretariat would end on January 31.
She said it was also an opportunity for players aspiring to move from their original state to another state to register their transfer officially with the national body.
“The secretariat opens everyday for players and it is going to run through the month, so no player has reason not to come and register for the year, its just N1,500.’’
She said that the exercise was to avoid dual registration or falsification, adding, “we cannot accept any form of indiscipline that will raise issues or disturb our national championships.
“This month is usually set aside for players to inform us on the real state they want to identify with for the year, which we document for reference purposes.
“The purpose is also to avoid a situation where a player will register with a particular state and during a national competition, will want to play for another state.’’
The scribe who applauded those that had fulfilled the exercise, added that it would be a prerequisite for participation of players in major national tournaments.
She assured that the body would have a busy year with various programmes that would engage players to serve as a build up for national and international championships.
“We have proposed lots of events in the year both at the national and international levels, so there will not be any dull moment for our athletes.
