NSF: RSG To Register Athletes, Soon

National Sports Festival Secretary, Baris L. Wifa, has said that the State Sports Council is presently working on the registration of the state athletes with various Sports Federation.
Wifa disclosed this at the weekend in an interview with Tidesports at the Alfred Diette-Spiff Sports Complex, Port Harcourt.
According to him, the registration is expected to be renewed annually and should be done before the 19th National Sports Festival Scheduled to hold in Calabar, later this year.
Wifa said that the registration is usually done yearly in order to maintain their membership in various Federation.
Speaking on preparations for the forthcoming National Sports fiesta, Wifa stated that, though normal training has began.
“The year has just begun, training has commenced for the various sporting association, but there is nothing much on ground for now”, Wifa said.
He stated that athletes and coaches are preparing on their own for the time being waiting for a go ahead signal from the State Government for major tournaments and competitions.
