Marketer Urges PHRC To Commence Production
The Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited (PHRC) has been urged to commence production to ensure sufficiency and availability of petroleum products in the state.
Speaking to The Tide on Friday at Alesa-Eleme, an Independent Petroleum Marketer Comrade Ephraim Roland said the refinery needs to commence production after several months of in-activities at the Refinery’s loading depot at Alesa Eleme.
Said he “for sometime now the refinery has not actually commenced production for products loading at the depot.”
He said petroleum marketers have been loading products from a private jetty at Abonnema Wharf rather than at the Refinery depot.
Ephraim said the development has not helped the business of IPMAN members that lift petroleum products from the refinery for distribution.
He called for the speedy execution of the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) of the refinery by the company’s management.
He said with the turn around maintenance of the refinery, the refinery will commence production at full capacity for the availability of petroleum products to marketers.
