Man Docked For Allegedly Bombing Ahoada Court
A thirty-year-old
man has been docked before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court presided over by I.O Agbesor for allegedly causing explosion in Ahoada High Court building on charge sheet number PMC11/C/2014.
The accused person, Abiye Ogori, 30, is standing trial on a one count charge on planting an improvised explosive before I.O Agbesor.
The prosecuting police, Insp. E. Ogbonna told the court that the accused, Abiye Ogori on the 6th day of January, 2014 at the High Court building in the Port Harcourt Magistrate District did cause an explosion by planting an improvised explosive at High Court building being a public place which resulted to explosion and caused damage.
The police prosecutor alleged that the accused committed an offence punishable under section 2 (ii) and 2(vi) of the terrorism Act.
The presiding Chief Magistrate I.O. Agbesor granted the accused bail on self recognition and directed that the case file be forwarded to DPP for legal advise. The case was later adjourned to May 12th, 2014 for DPP report.
